~Spoilers~

Lineart: [link] (which I like just as much if not more)

I just finished Tamora Pierce's Mastiff, and I must say, I haven't shipped anything in a long while as much as I ship Beka and Farmer. XD

In attempt to get over the usual post-story angst I experience when finishing a series I doodled this between drawing the piles of storyboards I'm supposed to be working on :P

I think I spent more time trying to not make Farmer look like a creeper than anything else. There is a lot I don't like about this picture, but I had to finish it and spend more time on important work.

The biggest problem I have with this is that I totally ended up with sort of an in-between. I meant for him to be getting ready to walk past her at this point, but not sure how that worked out. P:

That and the fact he ended up looking down at her. I'd like to imagine their relationship as equal. But perhaps the scene forgives it a bit...

"When I judged my watch was coming to an end, I returned to our stall to wake Farmer. As I shook his shoulder, a ripple of something exciting went up my arm. I'd felt it before when I touched him, and always thought it was his Gift....

"I was considering that and rubbing my wrist as Farmer got to his feet. I say this only because I wish to explain how it is he caught me by surprise when he leaned down and kissed me softly. His lips parted from mine gently, he stroked a lock of my hair away from my face, and then he went to ready himfself for his watch."

I love this couple! :D And I think you are very right, the relationship would be very equal. But the scene did call for him leaning down, so it's okay :)
Great work!
